A snack recipe with only three ingredients isn’t bad, right? How delicious, we found you the recipe for palm trees with salted butter caramel, which can also be made with spreadable cream, pieces of pistachio, hazelnuts or whatever cheers you up.
The recipe for crispy palms
To make this recipe you will need:
- Puff pastry (industrial or homemade)
- Brown sugar or brown sugar (it’s the same thing, right?)
- Salted butter caramel, or spread, jam, whatever you want
Preheat the oven to 190°C. Roll out your puff pastry, and sprinkle it with sugar, pressing it with your fingers to get the crystals inside. Turn it over and start the operation again. On this side spread the caramel (or other). Then roll out the dough on itself, up to the center. Roll up the other side, still in the center. At this point you normally have two balls of dough touching each other. Cut lengthwise strips of rolled dough, about a centimeter thick, using a knife (or an axe, but you don’t often find axes in the kitchen, so meh).
Come on, place your palmettes (without sticking them) on a baking tray covered with baking paper, and sauté in the oven for 20 minutes. Little extra tip: if you can turn them halfway through cooking it’s even better!
