Two (fake) pairs for the price of one
It’s been a while since then I dream of having the Dr Martens platform, except that it is very expensive: minimum €200! I can’t see myself spending that much on a pair of shoes. And then, a few weeks ago I said to myself: “Go ahead, Liza, watch Vinted, you never know. »
Here, great luck: I see the pair of my dreams, size 39, for €80. The ad says the shoes are new too!
Since I had some doubts about my size, I checked some old Dr Martens I had and it was indeed a 39. So, without thinking further, I ordered them.
A few days later I receive them, they are so cute and in a Dr Martens box so I tell myself this is a really good deal… Until I try them. They are too small.
I’m drunk but I tell myself what a shame, I’ll sell them, they’ll go away easily. In the meantime I’m looking again to see if I can find the same pair, but a larger size. Lucky day, I found exactly the same ones, also new, this time for €100.
It’s still a great opportunity so I’ll buy them. I receive them, I try them, but disappointment: I still touch the tip with my toes. Even more surprising: I notice that my heel is floating. They therefore manage to be too small and too big at the same time!
Suddenly, I have a big doubt and wonder if these are real? So I go to a Dr Martens store and do a comparison. They have nothing to do. The finishes are different, the label doesn’t look the same at all… In short, I bought counterfeit ones twice in a row!
What does it mean? I can’t resell them because counterfeiting is technically prohibited. Furthermore, I contacted Vinted who told me that having validated the orders they could no longer act: in fact they had not even banned the reported profiles.
And finally, I spent €180 even though I said I didn’t want to spend €200 in a pair of shoes. There I find myself with two pairs that don’t fit me at all. So yes, I have balls.

The missing speakers
During Covid I wanted to buy a pair of good speakers. I got it for almost €350, I knew the package would be heavy, I couldn’t wait and so without many doubts, I got express home delivery.
What was my surprise when three days later, after an afternoon spent doing nothing at home, I received an automatic email telling me that, due to my unavailability, the package had been left in a courier about ten kilometers from my houserelay obviously impossible to access because I am not transported.
Frustrated, I immediately contacted customer service at the store where I purchased these speakers, who informed me that I needed to contact the delivery service. So I made this second call, obviously billed by the minute, where I was told this my parcel was actually not in this parcel delivery service but was “lost” and that they could do nothing until he was found.
Then the days passed, energies and calls led to nothing, until two weeks later, an eternity in my head in confinement (I think I was spinning), they told me that my package had actually been stolen following the robbery of one of their trucks.
Suddenly, I felt bad for swearing…
Once everyone coordinated, I ended up getting my speakers at the end of the first delivery. Perfect to welcome my friends again!

The lamp and its cursed sale
I had an ordinary floor lamp of little value. One day, I decided to sell it on LeBonCoin putting it at €5just to make sure it goes away quickly.
I received feedback quite quickly and agreed with this person on a date, time and place to meet. The date has arrived, no one ever came.
In the meantime, another person had contacted me, he seemed to be in a hurry and had asked me to come over for the evening. I told him ok. It never passed.
The third meeting arrives. The lady who wants to buy my lamp seems very motivated, she even asks me for my phone number to make sure she meets me at the meeting point: the metro station near my house.
Five minutes before time, he writes to me: “JARRIVE”. So I go there, with the lamp under my arm and wait ten minutes. I then ask her via message if she is far from her, telling her that I won’t be able to stay waiting for her for long. The woman replies again “JARRIVE”. Another ten minutes pass. Not seeing anyone yet, I tell him that I will leave the station. Here, I see that she calls me and when I answer I am scolded by an angry voice:
“I SAID I’M COMING, WHAT DOES YOU MEAN WAIT ANOTHER FIVE MINUTES?” »
Obviously, at this point, reason should have pushed me to flee. But I felt like a rabbit in the headlights and couldn’t move. After ten tiring minutes, the lady arrived, surprisingly all smiles, very polite, and she inspected the lamp from every angle before saying with a stern look:
“There’s a policeman here. I’ll get it for you for €3. »
I found it a bit cheeky to negotiate at this stage a price that already seemed ridiculous to me, but I was tired of this story. He took the lamp, I took my few change and went home a little ashamed but relieved to no longer have to manage the sale of this lamp.
