Waterproof makeup is a real pain to remove. You have to rub, use a dedicated solution and sometimes even arm yourself with cotton pads (not always well tolerated by some skin types) to be able to get rid of it. Fortunately, this is not inevitable. Renowned dermatologist Dr. Shereene Idriss, whose videos we regularly see on TikTok, has the solution.
The most effective method for removing stubborn makeup
Simple and effective, Dr. Shereene’s method only requires the use of two fairly easy-to-find products: a cleanser (whatever you prefer) and a few drops of micellar water.
The idea? Collect a little cleanser in the palms of your hands, add micellar water and apply this mixture to dry skin in circular motions. In this way, the drops of micellar water will dissolve the most stubborn make-up and the cleanser will remove impurities and dead cells to leave the skin perfectly clean.

A well-studied method
What we like about this technique is that it includes the micellar water rinse. Since the latter is equipped with micelles, surfactants that help cleanse the epidermis and trap impurities, micellar water must be rinsed with clear water. For what ? Very simply because these micelles tend to remain active if we leave them on the skin, which has the effect of creating a dehydration phenomenon. This is what Dr. Shereene Idriss does by mixing micellar water with a cleanser and rinsing this mixture off. A great example!
