Yesterday, the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) suspended Kamila Valieva for four years (effective December 25, 2021) for violating anti-doping rules. In this context, Olympic champion Anna Shcherbakova in figure skating will receive the gold medal at the 2022 European Championships.

Meanwhile, the International Skating Union deducted Kamila Valieva’s points from the total amount earned in the team tournament at the 2022 Olympics in Beijing. Thus, the Russian team was awarded the third prize. While the team from the USA became the champion, the athletes from Japan came second.
Let us remind you that the banned drug (trimetazidine) was found in the sample taken by Kamila Valieva in December 2021 on February 8, 2022. This became known literally the day after the end of the team tournament at the Beijing Olympics, where we remember that the Russian team consisting of Kamila Valieva won.
