It was worn by our parents decades ago, in post-Soviet times, and today it is worn by models at the shows of the world’s most influential brands. Of course, we are talking about the same sweaters of the 90s, which were in the wardrobe of almost every fashionista of that period. In the last century, people went to Turkey for sweaters with typical patterns, codenamed “men’s”, and from there they appeared on the shelves of Russian markets. At the time, such sweaters were tucked into jeans and high-waisted trousers, accessorizing with a trendy leather belt, while “real” men wore them in a more casual version.

Similar fashion techniques were noticed in the new fashion shows within the scope of Fashion Week 2024. Loewe, Hermès, Doublet and other fashion houses brought “Soviet” patterned sweaters back into fashion and showed how similar models can be worn today.
There are actually quite a few variations. Nowadays, fashion does not limit us; It allows us to “play” with shapes, sizes, details and colors. Designers combine patterned sweaters with formal office trousers, casual joggers, bright jeans, shorts and skirts.
