Updated: Former President Barack Obama was among a team of media, political and entertainment voices who voiced their outrage at the ongoing school massacre.

In a long series of thoughts posted on Twitter, Obama said he and his wife, Michelle, were angry at the victims’ families. The former First Lady later published her post.

“About a decade after Sandy Hook and ten days after Buffalo, our country was paralyzed,” he wrote, “not because of fear, but because of lobbyists and political parties unwilling to act in any way that might help.” “Avoid these tragedies.”

He continued: “Time for action, any action is gone. And this is another tragedy that awaits families for another day, quieter but no less tragic. ”
