‘Morningside’: Fefe Dobson, Kiana Madeira and Brandon McKnight Join Cast for Indie Pic’s Canadian Opening Next Week

EXCLUSIVE: Filming for the indie film begins next week in Canada morning paperfeaturing singer-songwriter and two-time Juno Award winner Fefe Dobson, Lovell Adams-Gray (Power Book II: Mind), Kiana Madeira (Fear Street series), Alex Mallari Jr. (Ginny and Georgia), Joanne Jansen (Shadowhunters), Olunike Adeliyi (The luggage holder) and Brandon McKnight (The Lightning).

Writer and director Ron Dias (Bite a mango) and actress and writer Joanne Jansen, both from the Toronto-based production company Ron & Aussie, are collaborating on it morning paper which will depict the intertwined lives of the Morningside Community Center in Scarborough. The film depicts the personal struggles, relationships and social challenges that the various characters face in the face of the threat of gentrification.

The project will be distributed via SVOD in the US by AMC’s All BLK, which co-financed with private investors.
