Dakota Johnson signs with CAA

EXCLUSIVE: Dakota Johnson signed with CAA. The agency will represent her in all areas, including her production company TeaTime Pictures.

Johnson, repped by WME, stars opposite Sean Penn dad, which she produced through TeaTime. Christy Hall wrote and directed the drama, which opened in Telluride and Toronto. Sony Pictures Classics has acquired it and it will be released in 2024. Johnson received critical acclaim dad, it’s just her and Penn in a yellow cab from JFK to Manhattan, two strangers who briefly get to know each other and the problems they face. The dialogue is sharp and Penn gives one of his best performances in years. Johnson is with him all the time.

Johnson will next play the title character Ms. Web, based on the Marvel superhero character for Sony. The SJ Clarkson-directed film opens in theaters in February. Coming from her, she turned in the Fifty shades Like franchises and indies Cha Cha Really soft And The Peanut Butter HawkJohnson has become one of the most captivating and versatile actresses in the world.

Johnson and her TeaTime Pictures producing partner Ro Donnelly were executive producers of The disappearance of Shere Hitewhich premiered at the 2023 Sundance Film Festival. She voices the title character in the documentary, released by IFC and currently playing in theaters.

Johnson remains represented at Untitled Entertainment, PJ Shapiro at Johnson Shapiro Slewett & Kole and Robin Baum at Slate PR.
