Penske Media Corporation announced Thursday that it has hired Thomas Ferguson as its new vice president of product licensing. In this role, he will lead the team and develop new license renewals and partnerships to expand consumer touch points across PMC’s portfolio of brands, including Deadline.
Ferguson joins a team that includes Laura Ongaro, Associate Vice President, Licensing and Brand Partnerships, PMC, and Noelle Hickey, Senior Manager, DTC E-Commerce Marketing, PMC. He is based in Los Angeles and reports to PMC Chief Digital Officer Craig Perreault.
“Thomas brings extensive experience to the branded products and licensing team,” said Perreault. “I look forward to seeing the growth and development of PMC’s licensed products under Thomas’ leadership. We are delighted to have him on board.”
Ferguson founded the brand development company Backstory, which advised brands, artists and experts on design, development and strategic licensing programs. In 2019, he was named one of the “40 under 40”. Global Magazine License While serving as VP Licensing Partnerships at Endemol Shine North America, he oversaw multi-million dollar licensing partnerships across consumer products, publishing, e-commerce, immersive experiences and live events for TV shows such as: Black Mirror, MasterChef And Master Chef Junior.
Before joining Endemol Shine North America, Ferguson was a senior consulting designer for creative agency Focus Group West, where he worked with brands such as John Varvatos, Carolina Herrera and BCBG. He also advised on Disney’s first e-commerce sales project for D23.
