In the same interview, Robert Pattinson said he got the role specifically inHarry Potter thanks to Mary Selway, the casting director by Vanity Fair. Consumed by guilt after the young actor’s ouster, the latter would have arranged as followswill have a priority audition for the role of Diggory. However, as the casting approaches, the actor is overcome by such anxiety at the idea of failing that his agent advises him to accept a Valium pill. Robert Pattinson then confided that, according to him, his nonchalant expression (caused by the tranquilizer) he convinced the producers to give him the role of Edward.
