Near 30,000 testimonials harvest
Created in 2021, Civiise collects the words of incest victims and provides advice to public authorities to better protect children in the future. It is due to submit its final report on November 20 and conclude on December 31.
“ We senators who are members of the Senate Delegation for Women’s Rights demand the maintenance of this unique structure and the extension of its work. », so wrote the 36 members of the delegation. Because since its creation in early 2021, the commission has grossed almost 30,000 testimonials victims of sexual violence and incest.

In the document, the elected representatives say “convinced that its mission must continue, with the same co-presidents, in the name of continuity”. Because according to them “ the expectations are still high on the part of the victims.” Especially because some find it in CIIVISE “a thoughtful and reconstructive space of expression (…) Their testimonies contribute to a general awareness of the extent and mechanisms of sexual violence against children, which fuels sexist and sexual violence throughout our society”they explain.
Last September, CIIVISE had already issued a first damning document. He revealed that every year, 160,000 children are victims of sexual violence, according to the commission. And among these children who find the courage to report the violence they suffer, only 8% of them were believed and protected when they spoke out, the commission announced.
