MPTF Launches ‘Back To Work’ Fundraiser To Help Hollywood Crew Members After Strikes

MPTF launches Back to Work Campaign, a fundraiser to support crew members financially affected by the Hollywood strikes.

“While the agreement between the WGA and AMPTP and the tentative agreement between SAG-AFTRA and AMPTP are certainly encouraging, our teams will continue to fight for many months,” MPTF President and CEO Bob Beitcher said in a statement said. “The financial and emotional pain cannot be turned off like a light switch and will take months or longer to heal.”

Filmmakers and Hollywood executives, among others, have provided large donations to the fund Oppenheimer Director Christopher Nolan and his wife Emma Thomas.

“We are very pleased that SAG-AFTRA and AMPTP have tentatively agreed to a new contract, but it will take time for most of our industry colleagues to return to work and the MPTF will play a critical role in supporting teams to play their comeback.” Sentence,” Oppenheimer said producer Emma Thomas.

They also donated to the fund dune including director Denis Villeneuve, John Wells, Casey Wasserman, Peter Rice, Karen Rosenfelt, John Goldwyn, Kevin McCormick, Betsy Beers, Susan and Gary Martin.

staff,” said John Wells. “We have worked with the very talented members of our core crew to help us through this difficult time and wanted to reach out to the entire crew community.”

MPTF currently provides financial assistance of $500,000 per week to crew members whose financial situation has been affected by many months without work.

Beicher added: “This organization was founded by Hollywood to take care of ourselves in times of need. And the need is great now and will be so for some time to come.”
