‘This Is Us’: Mandy Moore Says A Few Final Scenes Was Filmed Years Ago;  Milo Ventimiglia and Chrissy Metz On Emotional Farewell

Mandy Moore walked the red carpet We While celebrating the series’ finale on Sunday, he revealed scenes shot years before the last episode. The series finale, titled “We,” will air on NBC on May 24.

“To be honest, there’s a lot of things at the end of Milo. [Ventimiglia] “I was kidnapped years ago,” Moore told Deadline on the red carpet. “So I don’t even remember what it was. We shot some things that I’m glad to see. But I’ve read the script and I’m excited to see someone else work. I think it’s really cool. I just felt that last week was the last, and more of an epilogue, out of my own selfishness, maybe because my character moved on to the final episode.” I think it’s a really great way to put things together in a very satisfying way.”

Series creator Dan Fogelman confirmed that planning for the finale began four years ago, showing that “it’s a long journey to get there.” He said he needed to distance himself from what he did on the show and how he could do his job.

“It was a tough struggle to take a step back and create some distance so that all the emotions weren’t covered up,” Fogelman said. Said.

It was hard for Moore to let go of emotion, as it was linked to his character’s death in the previous episode and his true love for Jack (Ventimilia) and other characters from the previous season.

He talks about his favorite things in “Everything”, “Train”. “Since I started working with Ron Tsepa Jones and Gerald McRae, it’s been a blast from the past,” Moore said. “It was a very emotional blow for me. Every time I read the script and read it 5 times, I had such an emotional reaction that I was very nervous about how I would feel after I left the set. But after I got rid of my first tears, it was okay. “We know how to do this, we did 105 episodes. this is good.”

Ventimilia remembers her last few days on Jack, which was exciting as she struggled with Moore on the set of the three crying kids, but felt completely at ease when it was over.

“It was whole and full,” he said. I was happy to finish the show with Mand on stage because that’s how we started. It felt good, it felt complete. We feel like we have a chance to lock everything about the characters. I was grateful”

Chris Metz can also talk on an emotional level about saying goodbye to the series after 6 seasons.

“I knew the end was coming and I was like, ‘What was I going to do? “And all I can do is feel how I feel,” he said. “There were so many emotions at once and I needed to hold them together. But I knew the latter would be Justin’s website. [Hartley] Like Kevin and Sterling [K. Brown] Like Randall. “Oh, it’s really happening,” he’d say.
