“I understand you, I sympathize with you, and I recognize that as a person in the public who beats the drum for ‘hold the line’, I can be a lightning rod for the argument: ‘It is easy for your to say. You are not asked to sacrifice as much as we are.” And there is a valid argument in that argument, I understand that,” Quinto said in response to the workers below the line.
Quinto defended that he was “a significant contributor to the Motion Picture Television Fund” and encouraged his followers to do the same.
“It’s not about me. It’s not about getting rich. “This is about protecting all of us,” he defended American Horror Story Thespians.
“Because where it’s not about money, it’s about the implementation of technologies that could eventually make all our contributions to this industry obsolete if we let it. If we give in now, we will lose ground forever.”
“While your outrage is justified,” Quinto told workers listening on the line, “I encourage you to channel it in the right direction.”

Quinto then pointed his finger at the CEO Gang of Four and begged them to end the strike.
“As workers, we’re all in this together and we stand against the corporations that have the power to end this today – the AMPTP, Ted Sarandos, David Zaslav, Bob Iger, Donna Langley, Carol Lombardini…”
Quinto said: “I urge you to understand what you are asking of all the people who make the contributions that generate the billions of dollars that your companies and boards and yourselves enjoy.”
“You can end it today with compassion, understanding and the humanity that exists behind the wall of corporate ideology. Come to the table with your heart and recognize that you have the power to end it now.
“But until you do, we have no choice but to stand up and say, ‘We must fight for what is just.’
“And in this fight, I promise to do everything I can to support the people who are making sacrifices they never asked for,” he said. “But none of us wanted this level of greed to define all of our abilities to make a living doing what we love.”
Netflix co-CEO Sarandos told guild leaders of the studios’ offer on Saturday: “We didn’t just come to you, we came to you.”
Quinto captioned his Instagram video today: “AMPTP stop it.”
As Deadline reported this afternoon, there may not be a deal tonight, but SAG-AFTRA and the studios could be back in talks before nightfall.
