This is the moment the Israeli military bombed a team of Hamas divers trying to enter Israel after frogmen entered the sea from a Gaza tunnel.
According to the IDF, at least two Hamas terrorists tried to enter Israel by sea near Zikim – north of the Gaza Strip – after passing through a tunnel to a nearby beach in the Gaza Strip.

The two Hamas fighters were killed in an attack by Israeli Navy fighter jets and soldiers, which also destroyed a weapons cache used by the terrorists. The IDF did not provide specific details about how the attempted sea infiltration took place.
Shortly after the IDF released an update, Hamas’ military wing posted a photo on Telegram of two men in special diving gear, armed with assault rifles.

An alarm was heard during the incident warning of suspected infiltration into the border communities of Zikim and Karmia, which have been largely evacuated since the October 7 attack, The Times of Israel reported.
Later, IDF spokesman Admiral Daniel Hagari said naval forces were searching for other potential terrorists in the area.
Hagari said naval forces, including naval commandos, operating off the coast of Gaza City saw the Hamas cell exit a tunnel into the sea.
He said naval forces shot and killed the divers “and are currently working to ensure that no members of the cell are left at sea.”
In a statement, Hamas claimed responsibility for the attempted attack, saying that its members revolted against Israeli forces after they reportedly managed to enter Israel.

An infiltration warning was repeated later in the evening in Zikim, Karmia and Netiv Ha’asara, although the IDF Home Front Command said shortly after that the incident had ended and an “all clear” was given, reports The Times of Israel.
Both during and after the Hamas invasion, the Navy thwarted a number of maritime infiltration attempts.
