Warner Bros. Discovery is restructuring its global brands, franchises and experiences – overseeing global consumer products, themed entertainment, franchise management and DC Comics operations – following the departure of CEO Pam Lifford.

Lifford is stepping down from her role to focus on the health care of a family member, the company said. She reported to Bruce Campbell, WBD’s chief revenue and strategy officer, and her direct reports will now report to him.

This includes Robert Oberschelp, currently head of North American consumer products, who will be promoted to head of global consumer products.

Preston Kevin Lewis, head of consumer products for Latin America and retail management for the Americas, will also assume responsibility for North America consumer products, reporting to Oberschelp.

Peter van Roden, head of Global Themed Entertainment, will continue in his role as head of licensed venue-based entertainment, theme parks and personal experience businesses.

And Julian Moon, head of consumer products for EMEA and Asia Pacific, announced his retirement in 2024 after 33 years with the company. In the coming months, he will report to Oberschelp and work with him and the WBD leadership on succession plans.

Campbell also announced that he will appoint a new Global Head of Franchise who will work closely with him and the senior creative leadership team across film, television and games, overseeing the development of the company’s global IP portfolio across all companies.

Lifford joined Warner Bros. in 2016. joined. As President of Consumer Products, he was charged with developing the organization into a global franchise, increasing revenues fivefold during that time. At a meeting in Burbank, she announced her decision to take a step back and focus on her family.

“When I joined the company in 2016, we embarked on a mission to transform the department and the way WB thinks about fans. Today, our team owns franchises, products, personal experiences and DC, keeping our global consumers connected to our intellectual property 24/7. “I couldn’t be prouder of what we’ve accomplished together,” she said.

Campbell said: “Pam is an exceptional leader and one of a kind in the entertainment industry. She has brought tremendous value and leadership to the company over the years, and while we want her to stay, we understand and appreciate the family-first commitment. She has put together a great team and I look forward to what we will do together.”
