The silence, pain and isolation born of sometimes painful stories give way to celebration, joy and collective. Strong and popular like the Avengers, they are eight North African and Arab women from the world of media and culture. Filmmakers, actresses, journalists, editors and authors came together in July 2022 to create the Arabengers.
A year later, this young, exclusively female collective is the center of all attention. In Paris, we recognize their events by the crowds they bring together: in July 2022, La Flèche d’Or hosted all-day several hundred onlookersof Algerian and non-Algerian origin, they came to listen to round tables, sing, dance and listen a concert in Medina during the “Telling Algeria” event. On July 21, 2023, it was FGO Barbara’s turn to host “Khoroteuf,” her fiery karaoke and DJ set capped by a Rim’K showcase.
“The important thing is also to celebrate yourself. We are not just a succession of dramatic stories and wars,” the collective insists. »

They will also tell us about it workers’ struggles or also young Moroccan filmmakers and videographers to follow closely. See you on Saturday !
