Created in September 2022 as part of the bioethics law, promulgated one year earlier, the CapaddaCommission for access to third-party donor data for people born through medically assisted procreation concluded its first year of activity on August 31st.
It therefore allows us to provide answers to people born through PMA who have questions about their origins. As soon as they reach the age of majority, they can request the identity of the donor.

And for his first year, Capadda received 434 requests for access to the identity of the sperm, oocyte or embryo donor who allowed their birth have been revealed franceinfo. From a document consulted by our colleagues it also emerges that among the 101 donors identified, 19 have already agreed to reveal their identities. For the other 333 files the searches have not yet produced any results.
Regarding the profile of the candidates, the average age of the candidates is 33 years in 2023, compared to 34 years in 2022. Women represent 74% requests.
In fact, since the law came into force, anonymity is no longer possible for donors. Before making donations, they must agree to the communication of their data to the people who will be born. The latter will be able to request access once they reach the age of majority, remember franceinfo. Without this agreement the donation cannot take place.
