We are constantly told that we must eat fruits and vegetables in season. And as if that weren’t enough, we also need to make sure these foods aren’t too loaded with pesticides. Unfortunately, according to a study published in 2019, more than 70% of fruit and 40% of vegetables sold on the French market contain pesticide residues of the NGO Future Generations. According to data reported by the European Environment Agency and shared in an information note, France is one of the European countries whose sales of pesticides increased the most between 2011 and 2020 together with Germany, Italy and Spain.
Result? We don’t know what to eat anymore! But then, which fruits and vegetables to consume in this climate of distrust?
