Rules, dates, theme of the challenge… we explain everything you need to know about the first edition of the competition launched by &H Academy (collection of the HarperCollins France publishing house) including to miss he is a partner.
Towards the publication of your novel?
The contest’s goal is to provide advice to future talent, to help them finish their novel in relation to a specific theme in the romance genre. The opportunity to show your writing skills and perhaps lead to a publication of your novel !

One theme: Fake Dating
The publishing house HarperCollins France goes in search of talent and bets on the theme of Fake dating. particularly inspiring for a romantic textthis theme refers to those situations in which the characters expecting a time to have a form of relational commitment — in love, PACS, married, couple… You can give free rein to your imagination.
No criteria are imposed regarding the subgenre of your text, as long as love story plays an important role in the plot. Participants will be able to shine in what inspires them most, whether it’s a contemporary love story, a Dark Romance, erotic, New Adult novel, fantasy, paranormal… Everything is permitted.
Few rules of form and content to respect…
If the challenge leaves plenty of room for imagination and creativity, several rules have been established to ensure the smooth running of the competition. First, from a formal point of view, the text must be written black, Font Times New Roman 12, line spacing 1.5 and margin 2.5. Its length must be between 200,000 characters and 400,000 characters. Finally, &H expects texts written in French, with correct syntax and spelling.
Finally, in addition to including the story in the Fake Dating theme, the relationships between the characters must also be allowed to match the editorial line of &H.
How to participate in the contest?
To participate in the challenge, you will need to submit your novel at the latest September 23, 2023 at midnight at the address [email protected]with the following format as subject: CHALLENGE2023-Title-Name-Name.
The body of your email will contain your last name, first name (or pseudonym if used), your telephone number, your email address, as well as your address and nationality. It should also include a summary of the novel make the questions and themes of the text heard. Attached files must be in .doc, .docx, .rtf, .odt or .txt format.
The jury will announce the name of the winner October 23, 2023. If desired, the person who won the competition undertakes to do so publishes his novel at Collection &H (Harlequin Publisher). If the publisher does not wish to publish his novel, the author will release the rights to said text.
