From September, Metropolis de Lyon will offer more than half of its agents the opportunity to experience the 4-day week to “strengthen its attractiveness”.

Eventually, 120 departments and 5,500 agents, or 57% of the workforce, will be affected by this system. And all trades are affected, whether they are administrative positions, support functions, agents working in Metropolis houses, project managers, managers or directors.
Budget of 17 million euros
The purpose of this mission? “Restoring the attractiveness of our professions, because for two years we have had recruitment difficulties like all employers in the area”said the president of the metropolis Bruno Bernard TO Lyon Capital. Employees will be offered four working modes: two scenarios over a 4-day week, one over an alternating 4 and 5-day week, and one over a 4.5-day week.
A way for many people, especially women, to better organize their schedules, keeping their salary intact: “We will adjust the schedules so that each agent gains in terms of quality of life while maintaining an optimal public service for our inhabitants. Thanks to this experimentation, we are offering the possibility to more than 900 women who were at 80% to return full-time in 4 days and thus recover their entire salary. »explained to Lyon Mag Zemorda Khelifivice president delegate for human resources of the metropolis.
The measure is supported by a budget of €17 million and a first evaluation will be organized after six months.
