Haaa the 80s, these neon joggers, these synth songs and these very guilt-free methods of education. This video of Melissa and Fred, two actors, shows us the differences with now.
1980s “These wipes are amazing” vs 2022 “I make my own liniment”
1980’s “You want bonbecs” versus 2022’s “Ecco, goji berries”
1980s “I bought her a girly neon pink dress” vs 2022 “I bought her a genderless rainbow jumpsuit”
1980s “It’s super boring, right?” » compared to 2022 « He is hyperactive »
Times are changing…
Between the parents of the 80s and the parents of today, there seems to be a gap, let me say an ocean!
We had already put our finger on some very different practices between a childhood in the 90s and a childhood today. Parents, for example, were much more inclined to leave their offspring alone at home than they are now.
In this video, which made me laugh too much, two types of parenting are shown! I let you look at (and recognize yourself in one or the other):
Make fun of yourself and your parents
This video pokes fun at 1980s “I don’t give a damn” and certain excesses of current concerns.
Parenting is always more benevolent, respectful of children, of ecology… and that’s a good thing! But it’s also nice to tease and be able to put things into perspective. A little afternoon in front of cartoons hasn’t traumatized the adults that we are, finally so small…
