Figure skater Evgenia Medvedeva gave a lengthy interview to HELLO! where she told why she ended her professional career.

The athlete admitted that for a long time he was tormented by injuries. “I didn’t want to quit the competition. I have huge back problems. Even the nerves in the back had to be removed (called denervation), but it still didn’t help. When I was 18-19 years old, the pain was constant, at some point I was physically unable to level up anymore. Therefore, it was decided to complement it with professional sports. I really miss the competitions, on the other hand, life is calmer without them, ”said Evgenia.
He also said that he is calm about mistakes. “All failures can be overcome, trust me. Thoughts of quitting everything visited me more than once. I think everyone has had a moment when they give up. At such moments it is worth turning to your life and paying attention: loved ones are alive, healthy, where to sleep and what to eat. There are many problems in the world that are more important than the sports career of Evgenia Medvedeva. And it is a sin for me to complain about my life, ”the Russian athlete admits.
