A British tourist has been arrested in Greece after allegedly trying to make a U-turn and killing a person on a passing motorbike.
The 52-year-old Briton, who cannot be named for legal reasons, apparently hit the 42-year-old from the front with his car yesterday.
The Brit would try to turn in the middle of the road and hit the motorcyclist.
The incident happened on Thursday around 15:00 in front of a fire station near the village of Prosilio on the Kalamata-Areopolis road that crosses the country’s south coast.
According to local reports, the motorcyclist, a father of two, died instantly.
The motorcyclist apparently returned home to Kalamata (pictured) after working on his motorcycle.
The father of two was a driver for an intercity bus company in Messina, a region in the southwest of the Greek region of Peloponnese.
He apparently returned home after work on his motorcycle to the south of Kalamata.
Police in West Mani said the collision happened about 17 miles down the long stretch of road.
According to the police, the driver drove in the direction of Areopoli, further along the coast, and then crashed into oncoming traffic.
County West Mani authorities have confirmed that the 52-year-old British citizen has been arrested.
Police said they will continue to investigate the fatal incident.
