It’s a unanimous vote. In the night between Wednesday and Thursday 9 March, the National Assembly presented a bill to better support women after the natural termination of pregnancy.
Better support and sick leave without a day off
This law provides for better psychological support for women, as well as sick leave without a waiting day. This “the lifting of the shortage will take place as soon as possible and at the latest” 1um January 2024, stressed the Minister of Health, François Braun alFrench media agency.
The text of the law also provides that from September 2024 the ARS (Regional Health Agencies) will have to establish a ““Miscarriage course” which brings together hospital and liberal medical professionals and psychologists”. This will allow women and their partners to be systematically informed and oriented.

One in four pregnancies ends in miscarriage
It also allows midwives, not just physicians, to directly refer their aborted patients and their partners directly to a Medicare-approved psychologist. This orientation would take place as part of an already existing device, “My psy course”, which allows you to benefit from sessions with a psychologist supported by Medicare and complementary health care.

Adopted in first reading, this bill by MoDem Congresswoman Sandrine Josso, a member of the presidential majority, must now be considered in the Senate. A “pregnancy in four” ends in miscarriage and “one in ten women” she faced this ordeal during her lifetime, she recalled.
