One of the hallmarks of the Biden administration’s press conferences was the ongoing conversation between Fox News/Gadfly White House reporter Peter Duss and spokesperson Jen Psak.
Doocy’s carefully crafted questions often take a surprising turn and attempt to make things politically unfavorable for management. Its purpose is to challenge the television moment.
Psaki made his mark in the fact-filled boardroom, briefly and sometimes with petty replies, especially against Dusk.
So when Psaki announced that he would step down this month, Dussi once again tried to catch him with the most insidious tactics: he played well.
When the press secretary called him, Dusi began by saying “Sorry to leave”.
With a sideways glance, Psaki replied, “Is that you?” she bites and laughs from the briefing, including Dus.
“Yes,” he replied, “and you’ve always been a good athlete. “For everybody,” he continued, and the hall applauded, “thank you.”
“Thank you. Like you,” he replied.
Dussi then fired the opening salvo: “Do you think progressive activists planning protests outside of some countries? [Supreme Court] Houses of justice extreme?
Psaki reacted sharply and everything went back to normal.
