Far-arrgh-i! Watch two Ferrari drivers fly through the air and crash into each other as they try to take turns at high speed while competing in Italy

It happened when two Ferrari drivers flew through the air and collided after entering a corner at high speed while racing each other in Italy.

Shocking CCTV footage shows the moment the daredevil duo, a 56-year-old Dutchman and a 46-year-old Belgian, raced each other across the country lanes of Osimo in Ancona when they both rounded a corner far too fast.

The cars – worth a total of £500,000 – hit a bump in the road and flew through the air before crashing into a nearby mansion.

The first Ferrari – a red 296 GTB – crashed head-on into the villa wall, sustaining significant damage.

But the other – a blue F12 Berlinetta – went even further, crashed through the villa’s gate and caught fire almost immediately.

The red Ferrari collided with the barrier directly below the gate of the villa

One driver appeared to get out of the red Ferrari unscathed, but the second struggled out of the smoky blue Ferrari, staggers towards his friend and collapses.

Moments later, orange flames were seen shooting out from under the F12’s hood and quickly erupted into a horrific fire that consumed the vehicle.

Ambulances and firefighters rushed to the scene of the accident via Molino Basso, near the La Coccinella shopping center in Osimo.

An air ambulance was also called given the extent of the accident, according to local media.

The men were taken to a hospital in the regional capital, Ancona, but miraculously only suffered minor injuries.

A passenger in one of the cars was also largely unhurt.

Regional news agency Ancona Today reported that a total of 118 rescue workers were forced to attend the incident, with several firefighters struggling to extinguish the burning vehicle.

The F12 was reduced to a burnt-out hull until the fire was extinguished and debris was scattered around the villa’s grounds, including the swimming pool.

The drivers, who were reportedly on holiday to visit friends in the area, are believed to be facing a hefty fine, which could be increased if investigations into the speed they were driving continue.
