Nancy Dubuc announced last week that she is leaving Vice Media Group after five years as CEO. The company announced on Monday that she will be replaced by Bruce Dixon and Hozefa Lokhandwala, who will become co-CEOs.
Lokhandwala has been Chief Strategy Officer at VMG since October 2018 and Dixon has been Chief Financial Officer since 2021 and was previously CFO of Vice Studios.
That’s because the board has initiated a sale process—a whole-company acquisition, a strategic recapitalization or other single-asset transaction—overseen by a dedicated board committee.
Prior to joining Vice, Lokhandwala was a managing director in the Media Investment Banking Group at JP Morgan. Prior to Vice, Dixon was Finance Director, Global Markets for BBC Studios and Group Controller and Head of FP&A for Central Media Enterprises.
“Hozefa and Bruce are incredibly experienced and highly talented leaders who have the full confidence of the Vice leadership team and board and are the right people to drive Vice forward,” said the vice chairman. “With their combined 10 years at Vice and their longstanding commitment to the company’s brand, mission and business, they are perfectly positioned to lead the company through this next critical phase of growth.”
Bruce and Hozefa added, “We are both passionate about taking the Vice brand, business and creative spirit into the future and we are excited and grateful for this opportunity to continue working closely with the board and the extraordinary.” to work with the VMG. management team. This is an era of tremendous change for media companies, and Vice’s unique news, entertainment and lifestyle content has never been more relevant. We look forward to building on his success as we embark on the next exciting chapter for the company.”
