This is the amazing moment a shark was attacked by a dog during a boat trip in the Bahamas, fearlessly diving into the sea in front of screaming tourists.
Fearing the worst, the British and American visitors screamed and yelled as the dog descended on the dark shape of the 10-foot hammerhead circling in the waters below.
But despite the huge difference in size between the little dog and the sea monster, the dog overcame the shark and seemed to chase it back into the sea.
Footage of the unexpected fight was captured last week by one of the tourists on the boat near a private island in the southern Bahamas.
Just the sight of the gigantic hammerhead shark was a rare treat for the 32 travelers on board. But then they saw something strange as the dog jumped from a nearby dock to confront the monstrous sea creature.

Tourists aboard the four-hour excursion can ask the dog to return, in a video circulating on social media.
“Oh dear God!” and “Go away baby!” and ‘Stop after that!’ they hear screams.
The dog ignored her warnings and chased the 10-foot shark, which lashed out as the two animals circled each other in the stunningly transparent turquoise water.
Then the shark slowly swam away, much to the delight and surprise of the crowd.
“I don’t think the shark will mess with him!” shouted a man.
The shark emerged from under the boat on Wednesday during a tour in the southern Bahamas organized by Exuma Water Sports.
The company’s reservations manager, Rebecca Lightbourn, told The Associated Press on Friday that the black and brown dog always runs along the shore to greet the boat as it passes by that island. But this is the first time he has taken the plunge.
“I think this time the dog decided he wanted to protect his home or play with a very big fish in the water, so he went after him,” Lightbourn said.
Speaking to Today, Lightbourn said the dog, nicknamed “Rufus,” is a Bahamian pot cake and belongs to a caretaker on the private island.

The tourists filmed the shark as it swam under their boat to a pier, but as they approached the wooden platform, the tourists filming the encounter saw a dog preparing to jump in and appear to have shark attack

The dog (seen with its head above the water next to the wooden pier) jumped in and paddled on top of the shark, which was thrashing underwater.

As the shark swam away from the pier, the medium-sized dog climbed back onto the rocks and ran (pictured), to cheers from onlookers
She said she has seen the dog since the encounter and that he is “100% fine.”

Tourists could be heard shouting “good boy”, while one of them asked: “How did he get away with that?” Others said they were afraid the dog would jump the shark a second time.
The boat then sailed to a popular area where tourists jump into the water with the famous Bahamian swimming pigs.
