Bruce Willis Has Incurable Dementia: What is Frontotemporal Degeneration?

With nearly a year left in his career, Bruce Willis’ family announced that the actor’s health had deteriorated. He has frontotemporal degeneration, a disease for which there is no cure.

Following the announcement of his career ending in March 2022, we now have very sad news about Bruce Willis’ health. According to a new media diagnosis, the actor of 67 years old saw his condition worsening: suffers from an incurable form of dementia.

A partial loss or full capacity to express oneself

He is one of the most popular and prolific actors of the last forty years. His rich career had been stopped dead in spring 2022 from his aphasia. Caused by damage to areas of the brain that control speech, this disorder refers to partial or total loss of the ability to speak or understand written and spoken language.

Nearly a year later, Bruce Willis’ family announced that his condition had worsened: “Bruce’s disease has progressed and we now have a more accurate diagnosis: frontotemporal dementia”he explained in a press release, saying though “relieved to finally have a clear diagnosis”.

There frontotemporal degenerationa disease with no cure

The relatives of Bruce Willis also revealed it communication difficulties were just one of the symptoms the evil from which the actor suffers. Indeed, people with frontotemporal degeneration (DFT) may present memory problems, difficulty speaking or moving. This Alzheimer’s disease is irreversible :

” Today, there is no treatment for this diseasea reality that we hope will change in the years to come.

As Bruce’s condition progresses, we hope so the media will focus on highlighting this disease, which requires much more awareness and research. »
