When is Tire Nichols’s funeral?

Tire’s funeral will be held at Mississippi Boulevard Christian Church on Wednesday, February 1 at 10:30 a.m. CST, according to local CBS affiliate WREG. The church held its first service since the video footage of the clash with police in Tire on Sunday 29 January. Pastor Dr. J Lawrence Turner held a feature titled “Shooting Deserves Answers,” where she honored that and advocated for police reform, through Action News 5. “We want his family to know that he will not be forgotten and that the fight is not over,” he said during the service. “We also want to start what will be a movement to finally bring police reform to our country.”

A live stream of Tire’s funeral will likely be available closer to the service. Mississippi Boulevard Christian Church has a YouTube channel where services are occasionally shared, so the funeral can be streamed there. The funeral is also likely to be broadcast on many major news networks.

While many other public officials will likely attend the funeral, it was announced that civil rights activist Rev. Al Sharpton he will give the eulogy, as he also did in by George Floyd funeral. Advocate for Tiro’s parents Ben Crump he will also speak at the service.

Many of Tire’s loved ones will also surely be at the funeral. His mother and stepfather honored him during an appearance at the Intuition Monday 30 January. RowVaughn talked about how her son was a caring person during the interview. “Tirò was a beautiful soul. Tyre, loved his son. He loved his family. He loved his mother. He was just a nice person. Everyone he has met has touched them in a positive way,” she said.
