A distraught Julie exclusively told MailOnline that just days ago the detective received an anonymous tip that her son had been fighting criminals two years ago while playing rugby for Ealing Trailfinders in 2020.

“We desperately need to know more because it could change the whole nature of the investigation,” she said. “The anonymous tip was given to private detectives who are helping the police find Levi.

The person was very shy and released few details other than that “people in the UK are involved in Levi’s disappearance” and that it stems from an altercation he apparently had with a gang in London while playing rugby there .

“I know of some problems he had with some people coming to his flat in Ealing, but I don’t know what the disagreement was about or how serious it was.

“But this is very important information that is coming to light and the Barcelona police are aware of it.

“We need this anonymous tipster – and anyone else who knows anything – to contact us and tell us more, as this could now become an alleged kidnapping and explain why my son has seemingly disappeared without a trace.

Gavin Burrows, the private investigator, added: “We have received several pieces of anonymous information which suggest that Levi’s disappearance was not voluntary.

“There are definitely people in London and Barcelona who know what happened to him and we are following the leads that have been given to us.”

Security cameras saw him leaving the pub at 10.05pm where he had a pint while watching football.

He walked the short distance north on La Rambla to the Hard Rock Cafe, where the trail turned cold.

According to the police, Levi has still not used his phone and his two bank accounts in the nearly three months he has been missing.

There have been no credible sightings of him and his passport was found by police in November, meaning he cannot travel, rent accommodation or even book a hotel.

Levi had been in Barcelona for just three hours, arriving at the ferry port at 7pm after an eight-hour crossing from Ibiza, where he was holidaying with friends.

The last time his phone signal was picked up was on October 29 near Sants Town Central Station, just over two miles from the Old Irish Pub, which Mr Davis visited for just 35 minutes.
