universal The Fables won Best Motion Picture Drama and Searchlight The Banshees by Inisherin won for musical or comedy at the 80th annual Golden Globe Awards, held tonight at the Beverly Hilton.
Steven Spielberg previously won Best Director The Fables – his third Career Globe out of 20 nominations – and Banshees by InisherinScreenwriter Martin McDonagh shared the award for best screenplay with Colin Farrell, who gave this film three top trophies that night.
The Dream Awards seasons for Farrell, Cate Blanchett and Michelle Yeoh continued tonight with respective wins for Best Actor and Actress in a Drama and Best Actress in a Musical/Comedy. The last two won for Focus Features. tar and A24s Everything, everywhere, all at once.
It was Austin Butler’s turn to win the award for Best Actor in a Motion Picture Drama for his role as The King in Warner Bros. elvis
Ke Huy Quan won the first prize of the night and continued his trophy run Everything, everywhere, all at once. This was followed by Angela Bassett for her supporting role in Disney/Marvel’s Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
Pinocchio by Guillermo del Toro by Netflix won the Globe for Animated Feature and Prime Videos Argentina, 1985 from Argentina took home the Non-English Language Award. It was quite a spectacular month for the South American country that won the World Cup on 18 December.
The best song went to “Naatu Naatu” from the Indian blockbuster RRRwhile Justin Hurwitz received the best score for Babylon.

On HBO Max’s TV site home of the dragon and that of ABC Abbot Primary School won Best Drama and Best Comedy respectively, making the latter the only show tonight to win three times. Quinta Brunson won the Globe for Best Actress and her co-star Tyler James Williams received the Statuette for Supporting Actor.
Zendaya won Best Actress in a TV Drama for HBO euphoria, After winning an Emmy in September, Jeremy Allen White won Best Actor in a TV Musical/Comedy for FX. The bear.
HBO Max The White Lotus won for Best Limited Series/Anthology/TV Movie, and Amanda Seyfried and Evan Peters took home their respective Lead Actor trophies for Hulu’s. The Fallout and that of Netflix Dahmer – Monsters: The Story of Jeffrey Dahmer. Jennifer Coolidge followed up her Emmy with a supporting actress win The White Lotusand Paul Walter Houser as supporting actor for Apple TV+s Black bird.

Combined HBO/HBO Max led the way among networks — and also distributors — with four wins tonight, with the streamer scoring three. Searchlight and Netflix were the only other three-time winners, with the latter receiving two TV statuettes and one for film.
Universal also won twice for it mythical creaturesand The White lotus was the only other multiple winner of the night on the TV side.
Tonight, Ryan Murphy accepted the HFPA’s Carol Burnett Award and Eddie Murphy received the Cecil B. Demille Award
