What is this beauty accessory that puzzled viewers in front of Emily In Paris?

The third season of Emily In Paris is a real commercial success. And if we often talk about the wardrobe of the character played by Lily Collins, it is precisely a beauty accessory that internet users wonder about.

There are beauty accessories that are familiar to everyone, such as the ice roller, the exfoliating spatula or the stimulating scalp brush, and then there are some that still pass under the radar of the general public. This is the case with the LED face mask. Spotted in episode 1 of the hit series Emily In Paris, this beauty tool has largely questioned viewers. What is it ? What’s the point ?

Know that Emily isn’t the first to use an LED mask to treat her skin. In reality, this tool (signed CurrentBody for the one presented in the series) has already been widely discussed. And for good reason: it’s already a favorite of celebrities like J-Lo, Victoria Beckham, and more to address a variety of beauty concerns.

What is an LED mask for?

In recent years, skin treatments have diversified in order to obtain a 360° support. These changes entering the concept of holistic beauty are interesting since the epidermis is finally considered as an organ in its own right, which it was not until now.

One of the treatments that is starting to gain popularity is the use of LED masks to treat deeper issues. This concept, coming directly from Korea, has been interesting ever since thanks to the different wavelengths, these phototherapy-inspired masks come to address different skin problems such as acne, hyperpigmentation, loss of firmness, lack of radiance or rosacea. All thanks to low-energy lights that stimulate the mitochondria of cells.

Obviously, this treatment must be performed in addition to a proper skin care routine and exemplary regularity. Yes, there is no miracle, especially in the field of beauty.

How does it work ?

It all depends on the color emitted and its wavelength; for example, red light has the longest wavelength (about 630nm), has anti-aging effect. For its part, that of blue light is 415 nm, it is bactericidal. Yellow light (590nm) reduces redness while calming inflammation. As for the green light (525 nm), it balances combination skin and gives brightness.
