The best Disney movies to show your child, based on their age

With the Christmas holidays and sunset at 4:57pm, you’re sure to have the opportunity to abuse your Disney+ account. But by the way, what are the most suitable cartoons based on the age of the bacon?

Originally released on April 8, 2020.

Sometimes you wonder who wants to watch a cartoon more, between you and your child. You can always pretend that you have signed up for a subscription (or want to) to please your birth mother, but in reality EVERYONE KNOWS you want to see Land Lion King Where is it Snow Queen.

Suddenly, before you go freewheeling and share your entire childhood with your child, we have, out of pure altruism, listed the Disney cartoons that you can show him without risk, depending on his age. All to avoid being completely traumatized by watching a film that is not at all suitable for his level of maturity, it would be a shame.

So yeah, we know, screens hurt, but a cartoon now and then isn’t going to burn their brains out, at least not any faster than usual, calm down.

Cartoons on Disney + for children from 3 years old

It is more difficult to find cartoons really suitable for children and the great Disney classics are not really one of them. But there are still some to change a bit from Peppa Pig and Donkey Trotro.

  • Winnie the Pooh

Winnie, Eeyore, Tigger and company are back in the Forest of Blue Dreams and are looking for Eeyore’s lost tail. A little suspense, a great cast, a plot worthy of the greatest Oscar-winning films (almost).

  • Cinderella 2, the life of a princess

The continuation of Cinderella, you will have understood quickly, I guess. In this cartoon, your sugary kid can discover not one, not two, but three stories, all about what happens after Cinderella frees her horrible stepmother and her evil stepsisters. Why 2 and not 1? Because there are fewer scenes that can scare your little cherub.

  • Mickey’s house

It’s not a movie, but a series, with five seasons available on Disney+. Aside from the end credits music that stays too long in the head, it’s an interactive series that can teach your child tricks like recognizing shapes, colors, letters. He at least he will do something.

  • The Jungle Book

The story of Mowgli who lives in the jungle and has many wild animals as friends. As Disney+ says in the movie description: this cartoon is “presented as made and may contain outdated cultural representations”.

Animated films on Disney + for children from 6 years old

From the age of six, things begin to get serious, and you can watch cartoons that you will surely have already seen yourself as a child. Or teenager. Or adult. In short, you get the idea, you can finally enjoy looking at things with your heir, amen.

  • Monsters & Co.

The story of a parallel world where monsters live that scare children (but not only, because I know there’s always one under my bed when I’m dangerously close to 33). But the monsters here are nice, they have jobs like everyone else, paid holidays and all, and their lives are turned upside down when a very human little girl fucks them and scares everyone.

  • History of the toy

Once again the story takes place on the other side of the looking glass. What happens when the toys are alone and there are no more children with them? Well, they live their little life well, like everyone else.

  • Robin Hood

I think it’s one of the cartoons I watched the most as a child. The story of the fox who steals from the rich to give to the poor, who is super tough at archery and whose songs stay in your head for days.

  • Fantasy 2000

The sequel to Fantasia, CQFD. This version is just as good as the first, with seven new musical sequences, the return of the Sorcerer’s Apprentice and always the classical music masterpieces that will do your precious brain and ears good.

  • The Lady and the Tramp

The story of an uptown dog who falls in love with a street thug. It’s true she’s old, but she’s pretty, nice, and she’ll make you want to eat pasta with tomato sauce and gnocchi.

  • The Aristocats

The story of three kittens and their mother who live in good neighborhoods, and who are cowardly kidnapped by a crooked butler. They try to find their home when they have obviously never set a foot outside the 16th arrondissement of Paris and meet cats on their way who know real life, make music and stroll with geese, in short, the great flurry.

Cartoons on Disney + for children from 8 years old

And here we are, almost every Disney classic is at your fingertips. From the age of eight, your child can watch everything that you probably saw repeated throughout your childhood, it’s time to treat yourself.

  • The Lion King

Simba, Mufasa dying, Timon and Pumba, the savannah and Scar this big bastard, everything is there, welcome to your childhood. I personally just watch the trailer and cry and sing at the same time. ” This is the story of the viiiiiiiiiiie! »

  • Peter Pan

Peter Pan is the boy who didn’t want to grow up, and who takes an entire little brother to the Imaginary Land to face pirates, have a chat with mermaids, play Indians, all while flying through the sky thanks to Tinker Bell. Yeah OK, it’s old fashioned, but it’s a classic.

  • Snow Queen

In advance, I feel sorry for you. Most likely you risk, by making your child watch this cartoon, opening up a new world, that of total addiction, which involves the massive purchase of derivative products and songs that will remain in your head for days, weeks, months, even years.

  • Pocahontas

Pocahontas, great classic. The story of a Native American people invaded by settlers and their fiery and free princess Pocahontas, who loves to sing in the wind and who thinks that her otter and heron are her friends (without having abused LSD ).

  • The beauty and the Beast

The story of a loser prince who is turned into a Beast because he hasn’t been kind to an old witch. So if he wants his human body back, he has to try hard to get someone to love him despite the hairy looks of him. And that person is Belle.

  • Aladdin

In my Top 3 favorite Disney, I think. The story of Aladdin, a boy who has some economic difficulties and who becomes friends with a genius. He crushes an unlikable wizard who has the habit of having a parrot nailed to his shoulder forever, and saves everyone with his magic carpet.

  • Rapunzel

Newer, but frankly not bad. It is the story of Princess Rapunzel who was kidnapped as a child by an evil witch who will pretend to be her mother throughout her young life. All because of her magical hair that prevents her from aging, she’s nerdy huh.

  • Rebel

So, I would like to throw a pebble in the pond: why hasn’t this cartoon been more successful? While there everything: little 1, takes place in Scotland (best country ever), little 2 the princess has red hair (best hair color ever), little 3 the princess says fuck you all and is HYPER modern and badass. I really don’t understand. This comic is great.

Of course, you’ll notice that I didn’t put EVERYTHING, because otherwise we have three days, and in real life I have one life too. But at least, I hope that this small selection helps you choose what to show your lump, and that you too take advantage of it to allow yourself a little return to childhood which is always a pleasure, even if the clichés contained in the clichés are a little sexist or racist. older movies will deserve a debriefing with your offspring after watching.
