The beleaguered Cleveland Browns are hoping to flood their social media presence with a touch of Jake Paul magic.
The team, at the bottom of the NFL’s 6-9 AFC North standings, hopes the YouTube star and undefeated boxer can use his skill to turn his season into gold. He has over 20 million YouTube subscribers and 21.5 million others on Instagram.
The team emphasized that Paul, who is from Cleveland, is not fit to play. Paul announced his new look with an Instagram post from team EVP JW Johnson wearing a jersey with Paul’s name on it.
As part of the same post, Paul included a video of a FaceTime with Johnson. “Crazy news guys, I have a contract with the Cleveland Browns.”
Johnson replied: “We’re excited. [We] I can’t wait to get you here today and get you to sign this contract and I’m glad you’re part of the team man.
Paul has a record of 6-0 as a boxer, with four wins by knockout.
