Actress Kim Cattrall celebrates her 70th birthday on Friday as she continues to showcase her enviable looks and share her secrets for healthy aging.
It has been 28 years since Cattrall first emerged as blonde bombshell Samantha Jones on the hit television series Sex And The City, a role that earned her widespread fame and critical acclaim.
Ahead of entering her seventies, the Emmy-nominated star has been open about how her perspective on beauty has evolved over the years. Speaking to ELLE, Cattrall shared her mindset on growing older: "As you get older, you realise that you're enough, and all those other cliches."

Embracing Cosmetic Treatments and Aging
More than a decade ago, Cattrall told the Daily Mail that she wanted to "embrace aging." However, she has since admitted that she is now focused on "battling aging in every way I can," utilizing Botox and fillers as part of her aesthetic care.
Going under the needle is not purely about appearance for the actress. She told The Sunday Times: "It's not just a vanity thing. I play a certain kind of woman who looks a certain kind of way. And professionally I am looking after myself."
Cattrall noted that her financial situation allows her the freedom to pursue whatever treatments she chooses for her face and body. Still, she cautions that the ultimate goal is to maintain her recognizable self.
The actress explained that she aims to "look like the best version" of herself and urges anyone considering cosmetic procedures to select the "right surgeon." She added: "It can't be emphasized enough. You want to look like you!"

Skincare Philosophy and Lancome Partnership
Last year, Cattrall offered a peek inside her skincare regimen when she served as the beauty muse for Lancôme's Rénergie Triple Serum Retinol. She uses the product for a "boost of love and attention," highlighting vitamin C, peptides, and pure retinol as its key ingredients.
Appearing in a Mother's Day-themed advertisement for the product, Cattrall remarked: "Look we all know this is an ad, but this will fade your wrinkles - not your smile."
Her daily makeup routine has also shifted over time. Cattrall now prefers a minimal makeup style, prioritizing daily application of a quality sunscreen and moisturizer.
She told People: "As I get older, less really is a lot more. I don't want to start wearing a lot of makeup." She emphasized her desire for comfort, adding: "I want to feel my skin being able to breathe and protect it and support it."

Exercise Routine and Chronic Injury Rehabilitation
To maintain her incredible figure, Cattrall keeps very active throughout the week. Detailing her workout routine to Woman and Home, she said: "I try to do cardio three or four times a week."
Having suffered past physical injuries, Cattrall incorporates "physio yoga" into her schedule. The practice combines physical therapy and yoga techniques to continuously rehabilitate her body.
The actress credits physio yoga with reducing and managing chronic knee pain and recovering from injuries sustained during intense filming and stage rehearsals.
Cattrall also prefers lower-impact workouts to protect her joints. She told Woman and Home: "The older I get, the less jarring I want my exercise to be and I find that a long walk is equally as helpful and satisfying as a three-mile jog."
By choosing long walks over excessive running, she secures the cardiovascular exercise she needs without risking injury. In addition to walking, she also enjoys swimming.

Anti-Inflammatory Nutrition and Dietary Balance
Regarding her diet, Cattrall follows the anti-inflammatory Perricone Diet to preserve her health and youthful glow. She enjoys eating a wide variety of foods, particularly pasta prepared with garlic, dry herbs, stewing meat, and vegetables.
Managing her appetite requires self-awareness. She told Woman and Home: "I have a big appetite and I like to eat, and staying on top of that is about knowing myself and saying, 'I can eat that today, but tomorrow I'm not going to'."
Cattrall added that previous experiences gaining and losing weight for acting roles keep her motivated to maintain her weight. She said: "And I'm always aware from gaining and losing weight for parts that the time in the gym trying to lose extra weight is really hard work! I always have that in my mind."
Reflections on Turning 70 and Career Success
Reflecting on her sixties as she turns 70, Cattrall shared the most significant wisdom she gained during the past decade.
She told New Beauty that her main lesson was: "Patience and looking back on what I feel I've accomplished, and enjoying that success and surrounding myself with people that want the best for me personally and professionally."
Cattrall highlighted the deep value of personal relationships and guidance over the course of a career. She told New Beauty: "That sounds like, 'well, why wouldn't you, of course,' but sometimes that's taken for granted, and I don't think we should take our girlfriends or our mentors for granted because they've been there, and that knowledge, you can'find in a doctor's office."
