Kill Jackie TV series sets October premiere on Prime Video

The upcoming thriller television series Kill Jackie, starring Welsh actress Catherine Zeta-Jones, will premiere on Amazon Prime Video on October 2.

All eight episodes of the production will launch simultaneously on the streaming service across select international territories. However, global distribution of the project has been divided among multiple network providers.

Amazon originally developed the show for Prime Video, but Warner Bros. Discovery later acquired the rights for Spain and several other European markets. In those countries, the show will stream on HBO Max instead of Prime Video.

Prime Video retains exclusive premiere rights in the United Kingdom, Ireland, the Netherlands, Turkey, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, and Canada. In the United States, AMC+ holds domestic streaming rights and plans an autumn release, though an exact date has not been announced. HBO Max has also yet to confirm a release date for Spain.

Jackie Price, drug trafficker

Plot and story adaptation

Catherine Zeta-Jones stars as Jackie Price, a former international drug trafficker who has spent two decades living under a false identity as an art dealer. Her quiet life collapses when she discovers that an elite team of assassins named The Seven Demons has been hired to kill her.

Believing that someone from her past arranged the contract, Price returns to her former lethal methods to confront her pursuers. She sets out to locate and eliminate the members of The Seven Demons before they can find her, only to discover that secrets hidden for twenty years may be more dangerous than the hitmen tracking her down.

The series is based on the novel The Price You Pay by British author Nick Harkaway, which was published under the pseudonym Aidan Truhen. Conor Keane, Tom Butterworth, Peter Lawson, and Damon Thomas created the television adaptation. Butterworth serves as writer and showrunner, while Thomas, who previously directed Killing Eve, serves as the principal director.

Cast and production details

Alongside Zeta-Jones, the cast features Daniel Ings, Sidse Babett Knudsen, Óscar Jaenada, Hattie Hook, Darci Shaw, and Raff Law. The ensemble also includes Enzo Cilenti, Christine Adams, Julian Rhind-Tutt, Bill Paterson, and Ron Perlman.

Filming for the series has concluded. Production on location in Spain was assisted by Deabru Kalea Filmeak, which supervised filming in the province of Biscay.
