Australian radio station KIIS FM has announced a major programming overhaul following the collapse of The Kyle and Jackie O Show in March.
The network shared a post on social media on Tuesday teasing a new era, after spending several months searching for new hosts to replace long-serving presenters Kyle Sandilands and Jackie 'O' Henderson.
The teaser image displayed the silhouettes of several people alongside the caption: "A new era is coming."
The network offered no further explanation on what the changes were, leaving fans guessing and prompting immediate curiosity online.
Mitch Churi, a network veteran who was made redundant in November 2024, wrote: "This'll be interesting!" Another follower added: "Can't wait to hear who it is."
KIIS FM is a leading commercial radio network in Australia operated by parent company Australian Radio Network (ARN). Sandilands and Henderson had co-hosted breakfast radio together for over two decades, standing as one of the country's most prominent media double acts before their sudden split.
Legal subpoena served live on air
The announcement comes as Sandilands was dragged into ARN's escalating legal war with his former radio partner Henderson after being served with a subpoena seeking documents.
The 55-year-old radio host was handed the legal papers live on air during his subscription show on Wednesday in a dramatic moment arranged by his manager, Bruno Bouchet.
Sandilands appeared taken by surprise as Bouchet presented him with the subpoena and a notice to produce documents.
"I'm very uncomfortable about that," Sandilands said on air, before tossing the notice into a bin. He added: "Just tell them I'm overseas or something. Is that what happens? How do you get out of this?"
Newsreader Brooklyn Ross then asked whether ARN wanted Sandilands in its corner against Henderson in the dispute.
Bouchet replied: "Yeah," confirming the network was seeking documents from Sandilands as part of its legal battle with his long-time co-host.
Sandilands reluctant to take side
Sandilands expressed strong reluctance to become involved in the dispute between Henderson and the radio giant.
"Well, that makes me very uncomfortable," Sandilands responded. "I don't feel comfortable saying anything that may affect what she's got going on."
A subpoena is a formal legal order issued by a court requiring an individual to provide documents or evidence relevant to an active lawsuit.
The development comes just a week after an emotional Sandilands revealed he was left in tears after learning Henderson had been diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder.
"This morning I woke up.. I was shattered. I instantly burst into tears," Sandilands told listeners at the time. "I just fell apart this morning."
Court documents detail PTSD claims and lawsuit
Henderson is currently battling her former employer in a Federal Court lawsuit seeking $82 million in damages following the cancellation of the show earlier this year.
Her PTSD diagnosis was detailed in court documents released last week, including a medical report prepared by Dr Jonathan Phillips.
Dr Phillips stated that Henderson "is suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder arising as a result of 'the ongoing bullying perpetrated by Sandilands' and 'the failure of ARN to offer appropriate care and protection'."
In a sworn statement, Henderson said she was "belittled" and "humiliated" by her "unpredictable and erratic" former co-host.
Post-traumatic stress disorder is a serious mental health condition triggered by traumatic or distressing experiences, leading to psychological distress and emotional impairment.
Henderson's contract with KIIS FM was abruptly terminated in March following a high-profile on-air argument between her and Sandilands.
Sandilands denies court allegations
Sandilands later expressed disbelief and hurt over the allegations contained in the court filings, saying they bore little resemblance to his recollection of events.
"It was really very upsetting to read some terrible things like that about yourself. And obviously, it's her truth. But that is so against what the reality of what happened was," Sandilands said.
"It's very unfair, and it's completely the opposite. It's soul destroying. It really is. It's very upsetting to me," he added.
Sandilands insisted the claims contradicted his experience of working with Henderson, whom he described as unpredictable and inconsistent throughout their time on The Kyle & Jackie O Show.
The network has not yet confirmed who will replace the iconic duo or when the new programming line-up will take to the airwaves.
