Television presenter Kate Lawler has revealed she and her husband Martin Bojtos had couples therapy twice during a month-long family holiday after parenting took a toll on their marriage.
The couple, who got married in June 2022, have struggled to navigate family life since welcoming their daughter Noa in February 2021, but said the sessions taught them to fiercely protect their relationship.

Lawler shared the update on Instagram on Thursday in a video clip set to the song Space Between Us by Evren Hale. The video showed the pair cuddling on a beach with their dog behind them, before ending with Lawler walking away from the camera.
Overlaid on the clip was a quote about marital resilience: "If you can get through the stage of marriage where it's all about the kids and working, you can get through anything..."
Writing in the post's caption, Lawler admitted that raising a child has been their toughest challenge as a couple. "I know it's not the same for everyone but becoming parents has been the hardest thing we've ever navigated as a couple," she wrote.

She explained that she and Bojtos had worked with a therapist named Diana to keep family challenges from dividing them. "During the month we were on holiday, we had couples therapy twice. Over the past five years, speaking with Diana regularly has helped us more than words can describe," Lawler wrote.
"And if there's one thing I've learnt from these sessions it's this... Always remember to protect your relationship as fiercely as you do your family, because one day the chaos will settle, and it'll be the two of you again."

Fan support for relationship therapy
Fans praised Lawler's honesty in the comments section of the post. One follower wrote: "Thank you Kate so true navigate through the highs and lows grateful for your authenticity."
A second supporter highlighted the importance of relationship therapy for parents: "It's so important to talk about this, because kids take over your life, as they should, but if you don't protect the relationship you had pre-children, you'll drift apart once they leave home. Therapy should be considered for each stage of our lives, we'd be a much better society for it!!"
A third follower added: "I love this, so true."
