Former television presenter Jacqueline de la Vega revealed she suffered 10 miscarriages during a television interview on Spanish network Antena 3 as she spoke publicly about her long struggle to become a mother.
The Mexican born former model appeared as a guest on the evening entertainment show Y ahora Sonsoles, opening up about the severe physical and emotional toll of her fertility struggles before the birth of her son Iker in 2008.

Years of medical treatment
De la Vega explained that her effort to have a child turned into a nightmare lasting several years. During that period, she visited dozens of medical clinics and doctors in search of answers while undergoing repeated hormone treatments and taking extensive medication.
Although she was able to become pregnant, none of her early pregnancies reached full term. She recounted suffering 10 miscarriages while pursuing an elusive pregnancy, explaining that the continuous medical interventions left her exhausted.
The extensive use of fertility drugs and hormones had significant physical consequences for her health. De la Vega noted that the emotional strain somatised physically, causing her to gain weight and suffer hair loss during the years she attempted to conceive.
Hormone therapies and fertility medications commonly prescribed during complex pregnancies are known to cause metabolic shifts, weight fluctuations, and physical fatigue. Combined with psychological stress, such treatments can trigger somatic reactions across the body.
Despite the ordeal, de la Vega expressed a philosophical perspective on her past struggles, observing that everything happens for a reason. She described the eventual pregnancy and gestation of her son Iker as a trek across a desert.

Television career and personal life
Her son Iker was born in 2008 from her relationship with Josu Fernandez. The couple remained together until separating four years later in 2012.
De la Vega first achieved prominent fame in Spain during the 1990s, when she became one of the most recognizable faces on Spanish entertainment television. Originally from Mexico, her overwhelming professional success hosting major variety programs led her to establish permanent residence in Spain.
Antena 3, one of Spain's primary commercial free-to-air television networks, regularly featured high-profile entertainment formats during that era. De la Vega's guest appearance on Y ahora Sonsoles represented a rare television return after spending years away from celebrity news and public life.
