Hideo Kojima, creator of the Death Stranding and Metal Gear Solid video game series, has shared his reaction to Spider-Man: Brand New Day, posting his thoughts on X.
Kojima said he enjoyed the film, noting that it concentrates on Peter Parker’s internal conflict as a man left completely alone. He said that quality makes it work both as a continuation of previous entries and as the start of a new chapter.
He described the film’s structure as very clever, and called sincere, heartfelt direction increasingly rare. For that reason, he said, the film puts the franchise on the line because it cannot afford to fail.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day opened worldwide on July 31. Tom Holland, Zendaya and Jacob Batalon return in lead roles, and the film also features the Hulk, the Punisher and an unspecified character played by Sadie Sink, known for Stranger Things.
