It comes after a YouGov poll found almost half of Brits don’t know where the vagina is – and it’s not just men who don’t know.
The 2019 survey found that almost half of women could not label the vagina. And about half of both sexes didn’t know where the labia were.
Understanding the female body helps men and women when it comes to sex and relationships to conceive and avoid pregnancy, It is announced by the Family Planning Association (FPA).
“Getting to know your body and how it works can help you know what’s normal for you and help with things like planning or avoiding pregnancy,” says Bekki Burbidge, co-director of the sexual health organization.
“When it comes to sex and relationships, learning and exploring your body can help you find what brings you joy and feel more confident sharing it with a partner.”
But it’s not just female anatomy that people can’t name, a recent survey of 2,000 adults revealed the shocking lack of knowledge of basic anatomy.
In fact, more than a third weren’t quite sure they knew where their brain was.
