Harley-Davidson Sprint 440 cruiser introduced in Athens

Harley-Davidson Athens has introduced the new Sprint 440 motorcycle, expanding the American brand's presence for daily commuters and newer riders in Greece.

The dealership, an operating member of Greek commercial retail company Fais Group, is offering the middleweight model to beginners, returning motorcyclists and experienced riders looking for an agile commuter.

The machine combines traditional cruiser styling with everyday ergonomics, powered by an air-and-oil-cooled 440cc single-cylinder engine that produces 27 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and 38 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm.

Harley-Davidson, established in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, in 1903, has built its heritage on heavyweight cruisers and touring machines. The release of middleweight and smaller-capacity motorcycles reflects an industry trend toward manageable bikes suited to dense urban traffic and European licensing tiers. Fais Group manages the brand's presence in Greece alongside a broad portfolio of international fashion, sport and automotive retail operations.

Engine specifications and fuel economy

The 440cc powerplant focuses on low-end pulling power, delivering peak torque early in the rev range to assist with stop-and-go city riding. The engine features a single overhead camshaft, two valves, electronic fuel injection and an internal balancer shaft designed to counteract single-cylinder vibrations.

Power reaches the rear wheel through a six-speed manual gearbox equipped with a sixth-gear overdrive for highway cruising. The transmission pairs with an assist-and-slip clutch, a mechanism engineered to reduce the physical effort required at the clutch lever while preventing the rear wheel from skipping or locking during rapid downshifts.

Fuel efficiency is rated at 3.1 liters per 100 kilometers in combined riding conditions. The motorcycle carries a 9-liter fuel tank, giving the lightweight machine a practical operating range for daily urban travel between refuelling stops.

Chassis, suspension and braking hardware

Handling and stability rely on a dedicated chassis with a low seat height of 671 millimeters and an overall slim profile. With a wet weight of 189 kilograms, the motorcycle is engineered to remain manageable at slow speeds and during tight parking maneuvers.

The front suspension utilizes a 43mm inverted dual-cartridge fork providing 130 millimeters of wheel travel. Inverted forks place the thicker outer tubes at the top clamp to increase rigidity under braking and steering loads compared to traditional telescopic forks. At the rear, twin shock absorbers feature external reservoirs and seven preload adjustment settings, offering 76 millimeters of travel to accommodate solo riding or added luggage.

Braking is handled by a 320mm front disc gripped by a twin-piston caliper, accompanied by a 240mm rear disc with a single-piston caliper. An anti-lock braking system comes fitted as standard equipment to prevent wheel lockup on slick or uneven road surfaces. Ten-spoke cast aluminum wheels measure 19 inches at the front and 17 inches at the rear, wrapped in 100/90-19 and 150/60ZR17 tires.

Styling, electronics and factory accessories

Visually, the Sprint 440 incorporates classic cruiser design elements, including an iconic fuel tank shape, a short rear fender and a fastback seat. Harley-Davidson Athens offers the motorcycle in three paint finishes: Dark Billiard Gray, Vivid Black and Teal Thunder. An orange graphic and a checkered pattern accent the fuel tank, while the side cover displays the new Harley Hare character to highlight the model's agility.

Rider instrumentation centers on a 3.5-inch full-color thin-film transistor display that provides digital readouts for speed and trip data. Illumination across the motorcycle relies entirely on light-emitting diode units, including the headlamp and indicators, while a 5-volt USB-C charging port allows riders to power navigation devices and mobile phones on the move.

The motorcycle can be personalized through the Genuine Harley-Davidson Motor Parts and Accessories catalogue. Touring and ergonomic additions include throw-over saddlebags with a combined capacity of seven liters, a sissy bar with a backrest pad, a clear windshield, and alternative seating options consisting of Reach, Tallboy and Brawler Solo seats. Owners can also add Willie G Skull decorative accents, a moto handlebar and a protective steel engine guard.
