Actress Halle Berry has celebrated her 60th birthday with a resort getaway to Los Cabos, Mexico, alongside her partner Van Hunt.

The Oscar-winning star marked entering her sixties while staying at Zadún, a luxury Ritz-Carlton Reserve property located on the Mexican coast.

Berry shared photographs of her birthday trip on Instagram, posing in a sheer lace swimsuit before enjoying a private beachfront dinner.

Writing on social media, she expressed gratitude to the resort staff for creating an unforgettable milestone celebration. "Some experiences stay with you forever ! Thank you @zadunreserve @ritzcarltonreserve for making every moment of my 60th birthday celebration simply magical!" Berry wrote.

"The cuisine, Sensei wellness spa, wine making experience and boat adventures were beyond exquisite!" she added. "This was a big birthday and, along with @vanhunt, you made it one I shall never forget!"

The getaway provided a quiet setting for the star and Hunt, a Grammy-winning musician, to celebrate her entry into a new decade. Zadún is one of a select group of Ritz-Carlton Reserve properties worldwide, situated along the coastal landscape of Baja California Sur.

Reflections on reaching age 60

Ahead of her milestone birthday, Berry spoke publicly about her outlook on aging, describing growing older as a privilege rather than something to fear.

Speaking on the TODAY show in June, she shared how her perspective on reaching 60 differed from past expectations. "I feel different than I thought I would feel at 60. You know, what is 60? What is age anymore? It's a feeling," she said.

"I feel stronger, smarter, wiser, more myself, more in control, I'm the best version of myself at the moment and I'm so glad that I'm still here and healthy," she added.

Menopause advocacy and Hollywood

As she enters her sixties, Berry has emphasized her determination to remain visible and active within the film industry, rejecting societal pressures on older women.

In an interview with The Cut earlier this year, the actress addressed the challenges facing women as they age in Hollywood. "You get to this age where you feel like you're being marginalized, devalued. You feel it at work. You feel it from society," she told the publication.

"But I have adamantly decided I am not going to allow myself to be erased. That's why I'm on my menopause mission. I'm going to be louder than I have ever been," she stated.

Berry has become a prominent campaigner for awareness surrounding menopause and perimenopause, drawing from her personal experience with symptoms such as brain fog and severe exhaustion.

Diet, fitness and strength training

To manage her symptoms and maintain her health in mid-life, Berry modified her daily nutrition and training routine, incorporating heavier weightlifting alongside her existing regimen.

Her health focus began much earlier in life following a diagnosis of diabetes at age 22. To manage the condition, she transitioned to a strict ketogenic diet, cutting out refined sugars and high-carbohydrate foods entirely.

"My health was on the line, so I went cold turkey on my sugar-filled ways. Out the window went the candy, the desserts, and even super-sweet fruit," she told Women's Health.

Addressing common questions about eliminating staples like bread, she explained how tastes adjust over time. "I know some of you are wondering, 'how could you ever swear off bread?.' But just like with sugar, when you give your body enough time without it, your palate changes and it loses its appeal," she said.

For nearly two decades, her eating plan has centered on proteins such as steak, lamb, chicken, and eggs, accompanied by high quantities of leafy green vegetables.

Berry also maintains a five-day weekly fitness schedule structured by her personal trainer, whom she refers to as her secret weapon. Her routine combines yoga, cardio, martial arts, and strength training, along with a consistent four-step skincare process.

After entering menopause, she adapted her workouts to focus on building muscle mass rather than relying primarily on cardiovascular exercise.

"I used to do a lot of cardio," Berry previously explained. "Right now, I'm trying to put muscle mass on, so I lift weights now, and I never used to lift weights before."

She noted that while she previously relied on bodyweight exercises, running, and cycling, she now incorporates heavy weights at least two days a week. "I only did my own body weight and cardio like cycling and running. Now I just do pretty much boring - what I find boring - but it's necessary for this stage of life, really just heavier weights than I've ever lifted, and I do it probably two days a week at least," she said.
