Hollywood actress Halle Berry celebrated her 60th birthday by sharing a series of candid photos on social media while lounging in a red silk robe.
The Oscar-winning star went braless in the vibrant garment as she cosied up to her musician fiance Van Hunt for a steamy sofa snap. The couple, who announced their engagement in February after confirming their plans last year, shared a kiss while Berry tucked into a juicy nectarine.

Berry put on a playful display around the exterior of a villa, lounging in various spots to showcase her figure. In several pictures, the actress opted for a make-up-free look with freshly washed hair while snacking on chocolate-covered strawberries.
The star revealed she approached the day with a carefree "f*** it" mentality alongside her husband-to-be. She kicked back to start her birthday morning with a mimosa as fans flooded her post with supportive messages.

Birthday celebrations and milestone mindset
Berry has insisted that reaching 60 proves the ageing process is nothing to fear. Prior to her birthday, the star described growing older as a privilege and said she felt barely fazed by entering a new decade.

Speaking on the TODAY show in June, Berry shared how her perspective on aging has evolved over time. "I feel different than I thought I would feel at 60," she said. "You know, what is 60? What is age anymore? It's a feeling."
"I feel stronger, smarter, wiser, more myself, more in control, I'm the best version of myself at the moment and I'm so glad that I'm still here and healthy," she added during her appearance on the morning program.

Entering her sixties coincides with Berry's determination to maintain a strong presence in the entertainment industry. "You get to this age where you feel like you're being marginalized, devalued. You feel it at work. You feel it from society," Berry told The Cut earlier this year.
"But I have adamantly decided I am not going to allow myself to be erased. That's why I'm on my menopause mission. I'm going to be louder than I have ever been," she explained.

Menopause advocacy and health management
Berry has become a leading advocate for menopause and perimenopause awareness after personally experiencing symptoms including brain fog and severe exhaustion. To combat these challenges during mid-life, she modified her daily diet and added structured strength training to her routine.
Her wellness strategy centers on a strict ketogenic diet, daily high-intensity workouts, and a consistent four-step skincare routine. The low-carbohydrate, high-fat eating plan has also played a crucial role in managing her diabetes since her diagnosis at age 22.

When diagnosed with the condition as a young woman, Berry immediately eliminated sugar from her diet. "My health was on the line, so I went cold turkey on my sugar-filled ways," she told Women's Health. "Out the window went the candy, the desserts, and even super-sweet fruit."
Addressing common questions about her dietary choices, Berry explained how her palate adjusted over time. "I know some of you are wondering, 'how could you ever swear off bread?' But just like with sugar, when you give your body enough time without it, your palette changes and it loses its appeal."

For nearly two decades, Berry's diet has consisted of steak, lamb, chicken, eggs, and lots of leafy greens.
Fitness routine and strength training
Berry maintains her physical condition by working out five days a week with her personal trainer, whom she refers to as her "secret weapon." Her training regime incorporates yoga, strength training, cardio, and martial arts.

After entering menopause, the screen star shifted her fitness strategy by prioritizing weightlifting to build muscle mass. "I used to do a lot of cardio," Berry previously revealed when explaining her routine overhaul.
"Right now, I'm trying to put muscle mass on, so I lift weights now, and I never used to lift weights before," she said. "I only did my own body weight and cardio like cycling and running."
"Now I just do pretty much boring, what I find boring, but it's necessary for this stage of life, really just heavier weights than I've ever lifted, and I do it probably two days a week at least," she noted.

Alongside her disciplined fitness efforts, Berry acknowledges that natural factors play a role in her appearance. Writing on Instagram in 2018, she said: "So many of you are asking how I have managed to stay in great shape over the years. Well, part of it is genetics, that's true."
"I was a gymnast growing up, and that certainly has helped, as I have always been very athletic," she wrote. "I have worked with many trainers over the years and learned a lot from each of them."
Hollywood career and personal life
It has been nearly 24 years since Berry starred as Bond girl Jinx Johnson in the 2002 James Bond film Die Another Day. Throughout her career in Hollywood, the Oscar winner has remained a prominent figure on screen.
In her personal life, Berry began dating musician Van Hunt in the summer of 2020. The pair confirmed their engagement last year before formally announcing it in February.
Berry was previously married three times: to former professional baseball player David Justice from 1993 to 1997, singer-songwriter Eric Benét from 2001 to 2005, and French actor Olivier Martinez from 2013 to 2016.
The actress has two children: daughter Nahla with ex Gabriel Aubry, and son Maceo-Robert with former husband Martinez.
