English fashion designer Georgina Chapman, 50, and her boyfriend, two-time Oscar-winning actor Adrien Brody, 53, were snapped soaking up the sun during a boat day off the coast of Ibiza on Wednesday.
Chapman showed off her fit frame in a strapless swim top and a patterned sarong, leaving her hair loose and shielding her eyes with stylish sunglasses, while Brody displayed his toned physique in black patterned swim shorts.
The couple appeared inseparable during their summer outing on the water in the Mediterranean. Chapman has been dating Brody since 2019, two years after her split from disgraced movie producer Harvey Weinstein, 74, to whom she was married for ten years.
Brody has taken an active role in helping raise Chapman's two teenage children, 15-year-old India and 13-year-old Dashiell. Although the actor tends to keep his relationship with the teenagers out of the spotlight, he revealed in his Oscars acceptance speech last year that they fondly refer to him as "Popsy." Brody has never married and has no children of his own.
Weinstein Praises Brody from Rikers Island
Weinstein, who is currently locked up at Rikers Island in New York after being convicted of criminal sexual assault, expressed approval of Brody's role in his children's lives during an interview with The Hollywood Reporter earlier this year.
When asked if he was upset by Brody mentioning his children on stage at the Oscars, Weinstein said: "No! I was happy. It's good that my kids have someone in their lives." The former film executive added: "And Georgina suffered terribly because of me. I'm glad she's finally found some happiness."
While Chapman is no longer on speaking terms with Weinstein, he claimed that she still allows him to see their children. In the same interview, Weinstein also moaned that actress Gwyneth Paltrow made "a big deal over nothing" after he asked her for a massage.
Hollywood Backlash and Impact on Marchesa
Weinstein also spoke about how Chapman and her luxury fashion label Marchesa were "punished" by Hollywood following the public disclosure of sexual assault allegations against him nearly a decade ago. He stated that many A-list actresses, whom Chapman had "dressed so beautifully" for red-carpet events over the years, stopped wearing her brand in the aftermath.
Weinstein became a central figure of widespread sexual misconduct allegations in 2017 after investigative news reports exposed his behavior, leading around 60 women to come forward with allegations. He was subsequently convicted of sex crimes in both New York and California, though he has consistently denied raping or sexually assaulting anyone.
Rebuilding Life After Marriage Breakdown
Prior to meeting Brody, Chapman was in a "really dark, awful place" following the collapse of her marriage, according to a source who spoke to Page Six last year. Chapman, a British-born designer who attended the same high school as Kate Middleton, had isolated herself at home amid the fallout from the Weinstein scandal.
In April 2019, friends urged Chapman to "get out of the house," leading her to attend an event at the Dorado Beach Ritz-Carlton Reserve in Puerto Rico where she first became acquainted with Brody. The pair hit it off and officially began dating a few months later. A source noted that after more than five years together, the couple feel "more like partners" and have "absolutely been there for each other through highs and lows."
