Geely Cityray Crossover Redesigned One Year After Launch

Automaker Geely is preparing a major update for its Cityray crossover just one year after the vehicle launched in China. Photos of the revised model, known on the domestic market as the Boyue, appeared in filings with the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China. Such government filings typically precede an official presentation and the start of sales.

The current Geely Cityray entered the Chinese market in August 2025, but the company has already decided to overhaul its exterior. The visual revisions focus on the front and rear of the vehicle, while the mechanical setup remains unchanged.

Exterior design changes

At the front, the updated Cityray features a significantly enlarged radiator grille with a bolder chrome trim, along with larger side air intakes in the front bumper. At the rear, Geely redesigned the taillights into a single LED strip extending across the full width of the body, while visually concealing the exhaust system.

Vehicle specifications

The updated Geely Cityray measures 4,570 mm long, 1,865 mm wide, and 1,635 mm high. Under the hood is a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine producing 181 horsepower, giving the crossover a maximum speed of 198 km/h.

The published information does not specify the transmission type, nor does it state whether the interior equipment, multimedia system, or driver assistance features will change.
