The Community of Madrid is offering free summer walking tours of Alcalá de Henares guided by characters from the works of Cervantes, including Dulcinea del Toboso, La Gitanilla, and Constanza.
The tours, run by the company Noiz Arte, depart from inside the museum on Saturdays August 15, 22, and 29. Two sessions run each day, at 11:00 and 12:30, each lasting 60 minutes. Tickets are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis from 10:30, with a maximum of two per person.
The same museum is also hosting the exhibition “Con capa y espada. La moda en época de Cervantes” through August 30. The show explores Golden Age clothing types and examines how Cervantes used descriptions of dress to define characters in Don Quixote and other works. It also includes costumes from historical recreation, opera, and cinema.
