Filming is underway on the fourth season of the Russian detective series Fisher, subtitled Black Prospect, with digital streaming platform Wink releasing the first photos from the set.
Production on the new season started two weeks ago and will continue for several more months, according to the show's creators, who released the behind the scenes images as work progressed.
The narrative of the new chapter takes place in Russia during the 1990s. The plot centers on Mikhail, a young Moscow investigator who finds himself at the heart of a scandal after beating up a diplomat's son in an attempt to protect a girl. Following the altercation, the young officer is forced to leave Moscow and travel for retraining to the city of Tver.
Upon arriving in Tver, Mikhail is assigned to work under the supervision of Alexey Titov, an experienced senior investigator. Together, the two law enforcement officers must untangle a series of violent crimes and track down a serial killer who is holding the city's population in fear.
Lead Cast and Character Roles
The continuation features lead roles played by Yevgeny Tsyganov and newcomer Oliver Raymond Mara, who makes his screen acting debut in the production.
Tsyganov is a prominent Russian screen actor who recently starred as the Master in the feature film adaptation of Mikhail Bulgakov's literary masterpiece The Master and Margarita. His career spans major roles across independent cinema, feature films, and historical television drama series.
Regional Setting and Streaming Platform
The production moves its story to Tver, a historic city and regional administrative center located along the Volga River northwest of Moscow. The 1990s era provides the historical backdrop of post-Soviet law enforcement challenges following the collapse of the USSR.
Wink is an online video streaming service and digital theater platform launched by telecommunications operator Rostelecom to produce original entertainment content alongside catalog film and television broadcasting. Filming for Fisher: Black Prospect will remain underway over the next few months before the season enters post production.
